I am trying to use an NI USB to GPIB converter to read data from an HP8563E and an EMCO 1060 turntable controller. In both cases the data that comes back on a read command using the VISA interface in MAX is not coming in correctly. The data is close but seems to be scrambled up slightly. Both of these are old non-SCPI boxes. I am not sure if the NI device is capable of reading these correctly, or if there is some set-up that I do not understand. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Dear all,
I tried to communicate 4395A impedance analyzer with the 82357B GPIB-USB interface using keysight command expert and Labview Add-On Tutorial. I could not able to find the SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments) commands for 4395A impedance analyzer in the keysight command expert. Please help me out regarding what are the other possibilities to aquire data from 4395A impedance analyzer using 82357B GPIB-USB interface?. Is it possible to get LABVIEW plug&play drivers for 82357B GPIB-USB interface?. Our main aim is to control the impedance measurement parameters and plot F vs IZI and F vs theta as well as to get equivalent circuit parameters on a PC with LABVIEW GUI.

USB TC-01 showing incorrect temperature on some PCs
Hello,
I haven’t posted on these forums before, so sorry if this isn’t in the right place.
I have a USB TC-01 temperature recorder hooked up to a K type thermocouple. This is plug and play, although I will be using it as part of a larger VI I’ve written.
It is behaving rather oddly. When I plug the USB TC-01 into my desktop PC (HP Elite desk) the recorded room temperature reads about 30 ⁰C too high (around 60 when it is 30). This is showing on the Plug and Play software, not any VI I have written.
If I plug this into an alternative PC then the unit records the correct temperature.
Unfortunately I can’t easily swap PCs as I have specific software installed etc.
I have reinstalled the USB drivers for the PC, and the keyboard and mouse and other USB hardware works fine.
Any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated.

I can't see my visa ressource n labview

but on labview, I can't find the ressource name... ( image2)

Visa read error
Hello,
I am trying to create a simple serial communication between labview and an Arduino board using its USB interface. The communication works when I use the serial monitor of the Arduino IDE. I used VISA read/write functions to implement it in Labview. The writing seems to work but I get an error -1073807339 during the reading operation. I double checked the baud rate and the ending character. I have no idea what could cause this error.

Timeout Expired error for RS485 loopback test
Hi everyone,
When I was doing a loopback test for a B&B USB to RS-485 mini-converter (4 wires), I am getting the meassage like
"Read Operation
Error
VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed. "
The loopback test was performed with NI MAX, and the steps are exactly follow the NI tutorial in the following link

I varied the byte to read numbers and timeout vaules, but I got the same error.
I am pretty new to the instrument control. Does anyone have any idea about this? Do I need to get a new RS485 connector? Thanks.
By the way, I did a similar loopback test for a RS232 connector and it work.

need drivers for GPIB cards that works on MSDOS
I need the drivers for the AT-GPIB/TNT and AT-GPIB cards, the support section of them displays a message that it has been archived and the link to download them is broken, the reason I need them is because I have a in line tester machine that uses it, it runs on a Compaq deskpro 386, the equip is owned by the client so I can't change to a newer model or something like that, I have tried to restoring all GPIB files including the gpib.com from 2 backups but it won’t work it just freezes after the message that the driver has been installed like on the image I've attached (I’m sorry for the quality my phone camera is scratched). After that image the pointer just keeps flashing under it and nothing happens so I thought re installing the software could work but I don't have it since the equip is not mine an really old. so if you could help me either fix it or get the drivers i would be grateful, o and also I tried with a AT-GPIB/TNT that I had on another equip but the 386 is not plug & play ready so I ended up in the same place with it and i don't have that driver because the other equip ran in windows NT so is not the same.

Instrument wizard error. Driver not found. LabVIEW 5.1.1
Hello,
I am trying to install a driver for the instrument SR830 via instrument wizard. But the error "some or all of the files for this driver were not found. This driver could not be properly installed" pops up, followed by "error. An error occurred, error code 7".
So I tried to download the driver from the web but the least version it supports is LabVIEW 8.2.1.
Does the error occur because my LabVIEW version is too low?
Is there any way to solve this problem?

How to control Andor Camera
Hello!
I wanna ask help on how I can control the CCD camera through Labview. The model of the CCD is DF887 and I already installed the Andor software for the camera and it's already okay. The software can detect the camera and we can actually get some background signal. However, my Professor wanted me to control the CCD camera via Labview and I am not sure how to do that. Can anyone help me, please? This would be a very big help for my research.
Also, my Labview version is 2015, 64-bit. My Andor Solis (the software for the camera) is also 64-bit. We also use the DM Tube and the model is DM 80-40.

Winlab32 with a Perkin-Elmer Optima 2000 DV ICP on Windows XP - Windows Accounts Problem
Hi,
We have a Perkin-Elmer Optima 200DV ICP Spectorphotometer connected to a (old) Workstation running Windows XP SP1 and have installed Winlab32 instrument control software.
Until now, the software has been used with the administrator account and has always work correctly.
Now we need to create other Windows users for compliance requirements.
If i create a standard User (not administrator), add it to a "Debugger Users" group (one of WinLab32 groups) and try to open WinLab32 with this new Windows profile, it occurs an error (image attached).
Is there a way to resolve this problem without reinstall WinLab32? (cause i can't reinstall it)
I found an alternative solution adding new user also to "Power Users" Windows group, in this case, if i try to open WinLab32 with this profile, it works, but the program is very slow to execute functions that are faster with the administrator account.
is there a reason why the program is slower with a "user" account then with an "administrator" account?
Why program works only with "administrator" or "Power User" accounts?

I am designing an interface card that will include two GPIB controllers (TNT5002) that will operate over PCIe via PEX8112 ( PCIe to PCI bridge ) and have several questions to the forum:
- I uses TNT5004 on their boards but only offer tnt5002 to purchase, what are the differences between them?
- Is there other relevant chips that are more suitable to implement PCIe to two GPIB interface?

Ohaus Ranger 7000 serial communication
Hi,
I'm working on a VI to pull data from a commercial bench scale and store it inside an array until I get 10 readings, the thing is that I keep getting a 0 after each reading occupying an additional space in the array, I assumed its the LF and CR causing this problem but I haven't been able to remove it. I followed another post solution where a search and replace string was used but so far I couldn't make it work. Data on serial terminal and NI MAX looks fine. I'm attaching both my VI and a screen shot of putty terminal. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thermotron8800 TCP/IP not working
A windows7 laptop was used to interface with the Thermotron8800, the device ip address was on DHCP, 192.168.88.25, when the laptop was set to be DHCP and connected to the Thermotron through ethernet cable, the laptop ip address beccame 192.168.199.254, which is not right.
Then the Thermotron was set to be staatic ip address 192.168.1.88, subnet 255.255.255.0; and laptop was set to be 192.168.1.100, subnet 255.255.255.0, on laptop it showed unauthrorized network, and ping could not work.
Only way it works is connecting both to a DHCP router.
Has anyone meet similar issues and what is the fix to do TCP/IP interface with static ip address or DHCP without a router?

.NET x86 NiFgen Exception
I have the exception produced by function RouteSignalOut
Error Message:
Instrument error detected. Call the PREFIX_error_query function and examine the error code and error message parameters for additional information regarding the error.Invalid attribute.
Curious is that it produced only in x86 target and only in our production software. Short sample (and x64 target of production software) working fine - generated wave and marker output.
The first question: what is NET equivalent for "PREFIX_error_query"?
What is your recomendation for searching such an error?

error 10109 with THORLAB DDS220/M and BBD202

PCMCIA485 vs USB485
Hello
I'm been using one old NI pcmcia485 to receive and send informations to one MVAT electric presse.
The PCMCIA485 is obsolete then i bought the new usb485 interface to replace the old 485 PCMCIA interface. I'm running software "RAPSODIE" in windows XP SP3, i've installed different USB485 drivers, the interface is well recognized and it says that is working properly, but i can't sent all the parameters to the press, stopping the comunication on the 1st parameter.
The NI USB485 it is configured as the old NI PCMCIA485 card that works ok (2 wire auto, 115200bps, 8 bit, parity none, 1 stop bit, no flux control.)
I can receive the repport of the press controller without problems. When i try to send parameters from the pc to the press controller, i see that it sends one part (1st parameter) and it stops the sent of the next parameters. When it receives one report from the press it sends the next parameter and pause the comunication again...
With the old PCMCIA card when it starts to send the 1st parameter, it doesnt stop until the last parameter is sent or receive one repport of the press
any ideas or differences of the pcmcia and usb485?
