Subsequent delayed analog voltage generation with USB-X 6343 or 6353

Hello everyone,

I need a delayed voltage signal or TTL after one immediately. To do so, I modified "Voltage - Finite Output" example vi following Dennis_Knutson advise in the 7th message here. You can see the modified vi in the attachment. Is it correct? Can I get deterministic time delay values lower than 1 ms with this way? (I know the hardware - USB-X 6343/6353 - is not a RTE or FPGA, but I have to try since no hardware I have except these guys, trying my chance). Instead of voltage generation, can I do the same thing with counters? Regarding critical timings (lower than 1 ms), with which one should I try my chance?

GPIB-ENET/1000 Command Reference

Hello,

I would like to control GPIB instruments via Ethernet using my own software

fom a Linux box.  Not planning to use MAX and/or any other NI software/drivers.

I need to be able to talk to the GPIB-ENET/1000 via C commands like:

  socket = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, IPPROTO_TCP);

  connect(socket, ...);
  send(socket, "something", ...);
  recv(socket, where_to, ...);

Is this something that can be done?

Is there a reference document summarizing GPIB-ENET/1000 commands

that I must use to communicate with GPIB instruments?

  Thanks!

Two NI GPIB-USB-HS Can't Talk to Each Other

I have 3 instruments, 2 with NI GPIB-USB-HS adapters and 1 without. Both systems with adapters can see the 3rd instrument, but they can't see each other. I tried different boot orders, and several reboots and can't get them to see each other. The controller is 1 of the instruments with an adapter and is device #0. The other instrument using an adpater is not the controller and is device #28. Any ideas why the instruments connected using adpaters can't talk to each other?

Testo 350 toolbox 2012 (USB)

Hi, i am trying connect with a Testo 350 Maritime: http://www.testo350.com/350-maritime.html

It uses a new toolbox bases on USB dll.

It have several DLl´s, the most important are "testo3XXT.dll" "testo350SPI.dll" "testoEmUSB.dll", each has itsfunctions, butall are necessary.

When you import a dll whith Labview shared library  manager tool (tools->import->shared library (.dll)), you need a header (.h) to define the functions.

All ok, but if a function of a library need a other function from other library, labview crashed.

For example, testo350SPI.dll need used testoEmUSB.dl, and it show error "the program can not start becauselack testoEmUSB.dll" (i load it before).

NI-DAQ Mx Base USB-6501 device names

Hello!

We have a few USB-6501 devices hooked up to our RHEL 6.7 machine.  It seems the auto-assignment of device names (dev1, dev2) is by serial number and when we change devices hooked up to the machine the names are rearranged.  Is there any way to override the auto-assigned names and assign them by hand?

Thanks!

NI MAX crashes on Devices expansion

Hello all,

I'm trying to use NI MAX for another program and whenever I click to expand any option besides "IVI Drivers" the program crashes. The error report is shown below. I've tried repairing and uninstalling the program, as well as other posts to no help. It is version 16.0 being run on windows 7.

I'm also getting an error of "database exited abnormally" when I try to open the devices tab. I am able to get around this error but opening services.msc and starting NI Configuration Manager and NI Device Loader. I've tried other posts such as:

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/F24AA9FB6A3A0E9D86257539006141BE?OpenDocument&metc=MAXTerminatedServiceError

Has anyone been able to fix errors like this before?

I've included a couple images for reference.

Thank you

how to control esp 301 motion controller using labview with mouse?

I want to use mouse movement to control the ESP301 motor within labview code, I do not know how to deal the problem?

The function should include: scroll control z axis motor, drag displacement control the x ang y axes motor also can define the move speed. Could anyone like help me? Thanks.

The attached file is my reference file when move the mouse the x and y motors will stop suddenly. I donot the reason.

Shiftout with 32 bits long -ADF4351 registers

    1. hello,
I need to send 32 bits (5 times) to a PLL circuit (ADF4351)
using PBP V2.x and a small PIC (lets say 12F675)
As far as I understand Shitout command can deal with WORD not double word ..
If I send first the first word using Shiftout and immediatly send the second word
usin a shiftout command, do you think that it will be OK ?
or may be , you have a better solution ...
      thanks

I will be much appreciated if you could provide me some help.

NI-VIA to Send Digital Triggers?

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the capabilities of NI-VISA, but first I would like to give you an overview of what the end goal is.

I work in a Biomedical Engineering lab, and we do a lot of work with EEG.  We currently are using an EEG amplifier system which has dedicated digitial input lines.  These I/O lines are accessible through a 10 pin plug (8 inputs + digital ground + Vcc) on the back of the amp.  The included cable to access these lines is the 10-pin connector on one end and a DB25 connector on the other.  Unfortunately, the PCs we are using do not have a DB25 port, so we bought this DB25 to USB adapter in hopes of being able to configure it to interface with LabVIEW in sending digital lines.

When I plug the device into the computer and open device manager, I see it listed under the "Universal Serial Bus Controller" as "USB Printer Support".  I followed the guidelines found in the USB Instrument Control Tutorial to create a driver for the device, and can now see it in MAX and VISAIC.

After researching how to send data (ideally TTL triggers) through the NI-VISA, the only thing I am finding is how to send hexidecimal information through VISA.

Therefore, I have three main questions:

1. Is it possible to send TTL triggers through NI VISA?

2. Do I need a device that is assigned a COM port on the PC?

3. Is it possible to reconfigure my "USB printer service" device to be assigned a COM port?

I've never done any kind of device/serial interfacing, so a little help from someone with some expertise would be greatly appreciated!

SDI-12 communication with myRIO

I am trying to set up communication between water potential sensors using SDI-12 communication and myRIO 1900. Can I just short the TX and RX pins to connect the data wire to both pins or is there another way of going about connecting the data wire?

Problem with camera image sometime turn balck

Everything working fine except that sometime when I snap an image, it come out black and when I grab the image, some big black horizontal bar keep scanning through the image. Can someone help me solve this problem?
Thank you.

USB-8452 OEM Connector Pitch

Does anyone know what the connector pitch is for the interface connector on the USB-8452 I2C/SPI module? I specificially need the OEM module connector specs but I believe that the standard version is just the OEM version housed in a case so the connectors are the same. Is it the standard IDE 1.27mm pitch? 2.54mm? I don't currently have one of these modules but I am planning to use it as a daughter card on a new design test board under development and I am trying to figure out a mating connector for the test board that I can run a IDC ribbon cable to coming from the USB-8452.

Driver Problem with PCI 232/16

I had a hard drive failure on a machine that communicates with several robots using RS232 and have the old PCI 232/16 186492B-01 board that I am trying to get to work. This isn't the newer PCI-8430/16. It worked previously under Windows 7, but now I cannot for the life of me find the windows drivers. This machine is before my time here at the company so I don't have particulars on the old setup. Same computer though with a new drive, new install of Win 7 and LabVIEW 2016. I am sure the previous version of LabVIEW was 2014. The only path I seem to find is to intall NI-Serial XX. I have installed NI-Serial 15.0, but is this perhaps missing the proper driver for the PCI 232/16? Note that the listing on the webpage for NI-Serial 15.0 does list the PCI 232/16 in the device list. Perhaps I am not doing something properly to get the windows driver for this device? The other option is to replace the board with an external USB multi serial port adapter - there is another similar setup that went that route and I know I can get that to work.

Terminating Resistor on NI PCIe-8433?

Hello, can anyone help me find the terminating resistor on the NI PCIe-8433  2-Port Isolated Serial Interface for PCI Express card? We are doing RS-485 communications and there should be a 120-ohm resistor on both ends of the link. Does anyone know if the terminating resistor is install by default or one must add it?

Thanks,

Joe

Controlling Zeiss Axio Observer Z1m

Hi,

I am trying to control Zeiss Axio Observer Z1m with the drivers I found in NI's driver network (here).

I am using a usb-serial connector. My LabVIEW version is 2013.

The connection is established, initialization and some actions work well, but then other actions result in an error.

For example in "Set Light Shutter.vi" in the drivers, opening and closing the shutter for transmitted light works well but running the same for reflected light results in an error and the shutter state isn't modified.

What could be the problem and what are my possible routes for fixing this?

Thanks,

Mai

Error with NI 9871 (Serial RS485 interface)

Hello everybody.

I am having troubles with serial comunication with this RS485 module. I checked in MAX and the ports are present in the system, but when I open the VISA test panel appears this error: VISA:  (Hex 0xBFFF0072) The resource is valid, but VISA cannot currently access it.

The error appears even before the test interface, so I am unable to send commands.

Any guess?

Thank you!
