Connecting network devices in NI MAX which do not utilize LXI standard

I have an ITECH Electronic Load Mainframe which I would like to connect and communicate with via LabView and NI MAX.

I've followed the steps for setting up the address information manually. i.e. setting the IP address and port number.

I've ensured the instrument is set to "ethernet" mode and it is certainly connected. I've set up a couple other devices on the same port, so I'm not leaning towards firewall issues. Those instruments use the LXI standard however, so I'm sure I'm just missing something in the ethernet configurations.

When I click "validate", I get the error message "VISA error code 0xBFFF0011. Insufficient location information or the device or resource is not present in the system."

The address is set to TCPIP0::192.168.0.211::30000::SOCKET with the default ethernet configs. I've tried messing about with the gateway and subnet settings, but no difference. Maybe I'm just missing something simple about the ethernet settings here?

I've contacted the manufacturer, and they seem to imply the process is simple. Just set up the connection manually in NI MAX, then click the "Open VISA Test Panel". Issue is, that selector is disabled and greyed out because I cannot even validate the connection at all.
