I'm fairly new to labview and working with CAN Buses. I am trying to read messages from a CAN Bus. I downloaded some examples from the web site, and I ran the programs, but it seems like I am missing a bunch of VI files for example, "ncConfigCANNet.vi" or "ncOpen.vi", all of which are part of the Frame API. I am wondering, where I can get these files, as I have been searching all over the web only to find nothing.

i am using Crio and i am having a problem in serial communication even i flowed the exact steps from the exampls i always recive the same error which is "poly VI visa configure serial port: bad linkage to sub vi" is it a visa settup issue?? knowing that when i run NI MAX it indicates that there is a visa error under the peripheric and interfaces of my Crio.

Hello, I am 1-year-user of NI instrument. I am using NI PXIe-1062Q. I have some problems with several NI PXI devices installed on this NI PXIe1062Q. My devices are:
1. NI PXIe-8115
2. NI PXI-4071
3. NI PXIe-6556
4. -
5. NI PXI-5922
6. NI PXI-4132
7. NI PXI-6541
8. NI PXI-6602
As attached in the pictures, only the NI PXIe-6556 are detected and the green LED is on. But the other devices are not detected and their green LEDs are off.
I have used these NI PXI-4071 and NI PXI-5922 before for measurement and they worked well. Several days ago I replaced NI PXIe-6556 with NI switch NI PXIe 2527, and the new device are detected.
But after I want to use other devices again, I found that other devices cannot be detected.
Could anybody help me to solve this problem?

This is Gowtham. I am a newbie to LABVIEW. I am trying to read and plot the serial data from arduino board using LINX. I am communicating the acceleration data wirelessly using zigbee between two arduino boards(router and coordinator). The zigbee is connected to arduino via rx and tx pins. I am connecting the coordinator to LABVIEW, where I am obtaining the data serially. I tried for the tutorials, but I didn't find them. Please anyone help me in arriving at the solution.

We are using Agilent (Keysight) equipment in our test rack and we are looking to switch from USB to IP. On the system we have a 53220A Frequency counter. I have it set to a static IP address, as the test PC is a dual NIC, where the test equipment is on its own network.
The issue is that every time the device is restarted, the Alias in MAX in reset. I click on the device under the "Netowrk Devices" and then go to VISA Alias on my system and change it to "53220A" and press Save. If the PC or the Freq counter is reset, MAX then sees it as TCPIP0::A-53220A-05883.local::inst0::INSTR.
Also, do you know why the 53220A would show up as TCPIP0::A-53220A-05883.local::inst0::INSTR and all the other instruments (4 other agilent) show up as TCPIP0::<IP ADDRESS>::inst0::INSTR?? I undesrstand that the 53220 is using the hostname instead of the IP address, but dont know why.

I have a customer who is using a Labview wrapper for an IVI driver to create an application to send commands to an LXI instrument. The problem is even the initialize call results in the following error:
Driver Status: (Hex 0xBFFA000A) Check that the library name (VTEXSwitch.dll) and prefix (VTEXSwitch) are correct.
There are no problems communicating with the instrument using a web browser and NI-MAX sees the instrument fine. The customer gets this exact same error when they rename the actual DLL file to something different, which indicates to me that the labview wrapper isn't finding it at all. I've looked everywhere I can think of, but I can't see how Labview is supposed to know the path where it is looking for that DLL.
This same wrapper has worked for a lot of other people. I made sure they had installed the IVI Compliance Package and IVI Shared Components, and tried reinstalling the IVI driver from the manufacturer. The problem is still there. What should I do?

I saw this page: http://www.ni.com/download/ni-488.2-2.2/526/en/ but doesn't show usb-gpib-a. Also windows 8 isn't listed on the OS.

With this monitor, you can have 2 analog outputs that you can transfer to the computer by using DAQ boards. In my case, I need temperature measurements at 3 different locations so I need 3 analog outputs, which is not possible with this device.
However, the monitor can also store temperature data in its memory and print the data. What I need is not to print the data but send the data to the computer somehow in digital form and postprocess it. I am using the "serial I/O" port to connect the device to the computer. I think I can do some configurations on the temperature monitor with the drivers in the link (http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=0241DD1B3AAF0341E0440003BA7CCD71 ) but I am not sure if the device recognize the commands that I send through the I/O port.
Any advice on how to transfer (in digital form) the stored data on the monitor to the computer?
I have a Shimadzu UV160U spectrophotometer. It supposed to have a GPIB interface but all I can see is a 14-pin connector in the back, not the standard 24 pin connector.
Does anyone have a pointer to the GPIB manual for this instrument? The company doesn't have it anymore.
Once I got the manual, would the NI interface work if I re-solder a 24-pin connector to it with proper wire mapping?

I am trying to use the Report generation palatte where it is missing in my labview so i installed the Report generation toolkit but its not allowing me to install it, since its asking to install 64bit labview before installing this package ,even though i have the 64 bit labview ,Is there any solutions to overcome this?

Maybe I'm being a complete idiot on this but I've been searching for several days/weeks on getting a Yokogawa WT1600 to connect to Indusoft just to monitor values on one screen instead of having the operator write it down on paper as he does currently.
I read that I can use .net controls to pull data through the gpib-usb-hs+ but have not seen/understood how.
As Indusoft is capable of using .net controls, this would be advantagous news but I haven't been able to figure out how to integrate this capability into
already in use software.
Is there any information that will help with integrating this functionality into this third party software?
I have already bought and designed the licenses for Indusoft and the company is not willing to buy different software so there is no option to using labview or other NI supplied software to do this.
Thank you all in advance for any help in this and I am contacting Indusoft's support group with the same questions so I'm already ahead of the 'talk to the other guys' bit that I keep getting when working on this.

can anyone provide a simple working example of RS232 setup parameters, and a command like *IDN?.
I want to verify the communication setup, but it's not working correctly.
The RX symbol is blinking on the E4418B whenever i send a cmd, but it's not reacting otherwise.
If i send the *TST? cmd, i would expect it to run the selftest.
When i send a MEAS1? cmd, do i have to do anything further to get the result ? like read some output buffer, or is the result send directly to my terninal program ?

i am looking to do a very basic task in labview but i am running into difficulty. i will try to explain as accurately as possible.
I want to create a Digital output which my transmitting circuit is connected to P0.0 in frame 1 that will start a timer when the signal in frame two is received Digital input it calculates a time difference between sent signal and received signal. I have added a while loop that while the condition is not true it continues to check until it is. My vi is below but I cannot get it to work. Please help.

I am trying to communicate with my PSU through a serial cable from linux. I get connected with it, but i dont receive anything and when i try send commands to it, it just beeps.

actually i am trying to establish communication between serial port and a power sensor which is of ophir make. now after learning from example i have established communication. i write SP(send power) then sensor transmit the value of power and i read it. now problem is that
1) i want to monitor power continuously because once i read the value again i have to transmit SP command for the new value. how should i transmit SP Command to serial port so that it always give me power value.
2) now i want to plot these value on the chart with data logging. how can i do this.

i want to use a humidity sensor with an i2c comunication sequence described in the attached file. Using the NI-845x basic I2C API i get a communication error. Therfore i have to program a script with the advanced i2c API. Can anyone help me how to use the ni845xI2cScriptxxxx commands (for c) to map the communication sequence of this sensor ?

Read the Displayed value (now 0.00 dB).
I wish to do this after a preset, everything controlled via RS232 (is up and running).

I try to connect a voltage source via GBIP-USB. I am writing in VBScript and need to send commands via GBIP-USB. Is that possible and do I need to install drivers or other software, that I can send commands with VBScript?
