fluke 8846a read issue

Hi all,

 

I have a  fluke 8846 multimeter that im using to measure temperature , i need to log the data with labview , for this i donwloaded the ni drivers for  my fluke 8846 , but whe i run the examples , more especifically the  Fluke 884X Series Read Temperature Measurement.vi  , the multimeter  makes a couple of beeps , a click sound and the lcd  refreshes , the vi stops with only one measure recorded (the last one before the blinks), i want to log the temperature in the vi as it chnages in the multimeter, i dont know what could be the problem.

 

I cheked the config  on the multimeter , ports on the pc and in max , im using a serial to usb cable.

 

whe i check with the visa test panel  , this si what i get

Basic questions about agilent34420a and drivers

Hi everybody! I have a few questions.

1) Сan anybody help me and tell where can find driver for Agilent34420A on RS232. On support CD which was together with the device i find only Agilent IO 15 and drivers for agilent 34401 (that in itself is strange)?

2) In certain source code (C#) i saw include one lib - "Ivi.Visa.Interop". Please, explain where it can be found?

3) There any emulators of working devices (agilent/keithley/other)?

BK Precision device works in VISA test panel but fails when using driver

I am trying to control a BK Precision XLN power supply.  I have set it up as a TCPIP VISA instrument using sockets (port 5025).  It validates fine in NI MAX, and when using the VISA test panels I can write to and read from it (although I get a timeout error on the read if I specify too many bytes).  When I use the supplied instrument driver blocks in LV, VISA read commands always timeout and fail to return anything, regardless of how many bytes are specified.

INFUSION PUMP

Hi, I'm trying to drive an 'PILOT C syringe pump made by Fresenious, using Labview.using RS232 protocol and I was wondering if I could use the NI-VISA driver software to drive these pumps?Can you provide me driver of pilot c pump?I attached a block diagram through which i control the pump but i am unable to change the flow rate.

Enet 1000 with Enet 100 driver?

Dear all,

I want to upgrade an analytical system with the Enet 1000 und Win 7. The same setup is working with a Enet under XP.

Is it possible to use the Enet 1000 with an Enet 100 driver? I can`t get the 488.2 driver 2.81 to work with my application. Rewriting is no option I am not a programmer and the source code is (and will be) not available.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Device not showing up in VISA interactive control

Hello, I am trying to access a NI USB-6251 device through VISA (pyvisa). However, the device does not show up in the VISA interactive control panel. In MAX it shows up properly and the test panel works fine. I also could not find any information on the compatibility of this device with VISA.

OS: Windows 7; VISA 5.4.1

Any help is highly appreciated.

Agilent E4980A lcr meter reading high D at high frequency

Hi I have a quick question on my agilent E4980A. At high frequencies ( i.e. 100MHZ using the agilent E1645 test lead) I get high Df readings. What could be causing this?.

Max unable to detect my HP 33120a function generator

Hi

 

I am working on a system which setup by someone else who is no more acessible. It worked pretty well until some day, it gave me some "time out" error message. I spent a lot of time trouble shooting, and finally found out that the code stalls at the point that it called the function generator to create waveform. I check the code, there is a resource name: GIPBS::5:INSTR. But when I tried to found it in the MAX, I did not see it. Attached is the screen shot of the MAX.

 

I tested the function generator with an ocsilloscope, and it works. Any idea how I may solve the problem? or even a suggestion what I should trouble shoot next will be appreciate.

ASRL Number in MAX differ from COM Number in

Hello,

 

I have install the external "PCI 8S Serial card RS-232" (Model EX-41098-2 from EXSYS). In Windows Device Manager ports for this card named from COM1 to COM8 (see screenshot). In NI MAX all ports have a plausible assignment except for COM4. This will assign to ASRL9 and not to ASRL4 (see screenshot).

 

I have verify the port assignment in Agilent-IO-Tool. Here is COM4 assigned to ASRL4 (see screenshot).

 

I didn't find a way to change ASRL number in MAX. Has anybody an idea, what the reason of that assignment?  Thank you for help.

USBTMC: host continuously sending bulk OUT packets

Hi,

We are developing firmware for a new TMC device. Device is successfully enumerated as IVI class [Refer: 1_WinDeviceMgr.png]

The firmware is at a very basic level at this stage with Control EP handling all the standard requests (Get Capabilities is not yet in place); bulk out end point is ready to data.

 

Currently I am stuck with an issue that, host driver  is indefintelty sending BULK OUT data packates [Refer: 2_BeagleTrace.png] - the same behaviour is observed when using both Win and Linux hosts!

 

I am not sure to understand this behaviour.USBTMC class specs [USBTMC_1_00.pdf and USBTMC_usb488_subclass_1_00.pdf]  looks straightforward.

 

Can you please clarify:

 

1 - Windows is able to detect this device - but NI MAX is not able to identify this (I ve followed NI forum link as well - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/BE81A3BE80E415D2862579DB006B131A)

2 - Why there is a continuous EP1 - BULK OUT data from host?

3 - Connected beagle lists this new device (7) on BusIdx:7; there are no bulkout data on EP1 !, but not sure from where the "Unknown Device (8): (BusIdx:2) EP1 OUT data is coming from? probably due to this, our device library is confused and failing to understand the data!

4 - My understanding is, beagle snoop should enumerate only bus index 8, but not sure to why there are '8 bus indexes' listed!?

 

 

Kindly throw some light if you have any clues on these -  Beagle capture [3_beagle_trace.tdc] is also attached for your reference.

Can#T Evaluate LabView, get only errors

Hi,

just want to evaluate LabView, but get only errors.

 

Do installation, works, searched & installed drivers, Agilent 34401 or Agilent 33120A, the classics I think, abd open an example ==> error.

 

Whats wrong?

Can't buy a expensive software which doesnt work, sorry.

Can't Load Tulip

I've been trying for the last week or so to get Labview (7.1) to work with an HP-Agilent-Keysite 82350A GPIB under Windows XP.

 

I've read through a lot of the Forum posts and gleaned some valuable information but still no joy. My understanding is that I need to install the HP driver and then load the Tulip passport in MAX to allow Labview to recognize the card. I have done these things to no avail. I have also swapped-out the 82350A card, suspecting that it was defective, and rebooted more times than I can remember.

 

The 82350A card is connected to two instruments, a 3014A Tek scope and a 34970A HP measurement MUX. Both instruments advise that they have active GPIB addresses during power-up. I've tried using one or both at different times and swapped out the cables as well.

 

The system/hardware path in XP shows the card installed and enabled, the driver tab shows the HP driver is installed and recognized.

 

When I try to look at the card and instruments in Labview, I get the message that Tulip cannot be loaded.

 

I have attached a .doc file that shows screenshots of MAX and XP/system/hardware in hopes someone may see something I've missed. The images are a little small but the resolution is good so a zoom makes the screenshots quite legible.

 

I would be grateful for any assistance.

Deploy a .NET app with NI dlls?

Hello all,

 

I hope I have the right place here.

 

I have a .NET utility I wrote in C# in Visual Studio 13 which I'd like to make freely available.  It uses the NationalInstruments.Common and NationalInstruments.NI4882 dlls to directly read a GPIB instrument.  I have LabView installed and it runs fine on my development system, but when I publish my app and try to install and run on another machine I get an unhandled exception error:

"System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'NationalInstruments.NI4882.Internal.GpibDll' threw an exception. ---> System.DllNotFoundException: The NI-488.2 Driver library cannot be found.  Either Gpib is not installed, or Gpib is improperly installed. ---> System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'ni4882.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)

 

Am I publishing my app incorrectly, or is it not possible to include the NI dlls along with it?  Are the dlls proprietary, so they'll only work if a person has LabView or equivalent installed?

AGILENT HANDHELD U1732B LCR METER

Would like to be able to log the data from my handheld Agilent U1732B LCR meter but cannot find any drivers on the forum or NI drivers page.

 

Using the Agilent data logging  program for the meter determined the coms protocol and then running basic Labview serial vi got the following data:-

Contacted Keysight (was Agilent) and asked if it would be possible to have a conversion table so I can work out what the data is, but they said the meter is only supported through their Vee software, so I guess that means no................

 

 

Has anyone done anything for this meter or one of those in the range?

"ENOL : No Listener (2)"

I am programing for control the oscilloscope(Tektronix DPO70604C) with GPIB-USB-HS.

My development environment is Visual Studio 2012 C# and use "NI-488.2 Language Interface(LangInt.dll)" for control GPIB-USB-HS.

 

The control is succeed at first and continue. But the error "ENOL : No Listener (2)" is come out from "ibwrt" function occasionally.

The software is communicating to oscilloscope until just before.

This "ibwrt" function is used many times in my software.

This problem can resolve by software restart.

 

This error occur from my customer's office. so I have not able to repro this error on my environment.

 

Why is this error coming?

Please tell me how to control without this error, or how to recover without software restart.

VISA and Enet/100/1000 hangs

I am running 50 Enet/1000 /100 controllers from one PC windows7 server.

 

Each controller ruins 4 instruments configured the same way.
It is essential that all measurements starts at the same time so my main LabVIEW OOP code submits 50 reentrant background LabView processes completing the same test code.
I find that quite often this will hang LabView>MAX>probably also VISA

 

Restarting LabView sometimes solves the problem and sometimes the only thing to restore proper interface communication is to power cycle the Enet controller. This can be verifies by MAX>Scan for Instruments, if fMAX hangs kill MAX and then power cycle the Enet unit.  Sometimes I am not so lucky so I have to reset MAX configuration and manually enter all +50 Enet units again as there is no support to import a .nte file. It appears as the larger my application becomes the more easily this exception occurs. this means that 30 statins might run fine, but 40 will not and restating 30 stations again after first running 30 stations will hang 1-20 statins (not all though). Hanging also means according to IO trace log that a simple VISA command will not ever be retuned i.e. gets a timestamp but no duration.

 

Has anyone else have this experience?

 

Has anyone run +50 Ènet statins successfully?

NI USB-8473 Driver Corrupt

Good Afternoon,

 

I have successfully downloaded, installed, and used the NI-CAN 14.0 driver onto my laptop.

However the unzip+install process fails when I try to copy the same installer onto a new PC using a USB thumb drive to move the file.

After copying the file to the new target PC desktop, the unzip step fails stating the file is corrupt.

I am in the process of setting up a newtork drop in the area but it is taking longer than I have time for.

 

Any thoughts please?

VI_NULL constant expression required

The VBA program with NI-VISA 4.6.2 can run ok , but will get the error(NI_NULL display constant expression required) when run in another computer with verion NI-VISA 5.2 .The VBA program have loaded the visa32.dll . Would you advise what is the difference between two version of NI-VISA .I need to use NI-VISA 5.2 , would you advise what i should do next step . Thanks!
