Set more 2 primary adress

Hi everybody

 

I have 2 pc. The first is the master with the test program, and the 2nd PC have a controller PXI with some DMM-Counter Timer....

2 pc are pluged with GPIB.
I want to simulate more Primare Adress on the 2nd PC. The goal : each PXI ressource have one GPIB Adress.

The GPIB Adress is define in main test program, and can't be change.

Salut à tous

 

Voila j'ai 2 pc relié en GPIB. Le premier a un programme de test et le second lui gère maintenant les ressources. Il a un rack PXI avec des instruments de mesure.
Je souhaite crée virtuellement une adress primaire pour chaque ressource PXI du 2nd PC.

Les adresses GPIB ne peuvent pas etre changés, elles sont définis dans le programme.

NI-MAX vs. Teraterm

Hi,

 

I am trying to communicate with a vacuum gauge controller, Varian XGS-600 via RS232.

 

When I use NI-MAX or LabVIEW for that matter, I have to repeat every command twice before getting the correct reply. It is as if the previous reply is still stuck in the buffer. I would like to emphasize that this happens only using NI-MAX or LabVIEW.

 

When I use teraterm directly to the COM port, no such error occurs - whatever I enter the device "gets in" immediately and I do not have to repeat the command twice.

 

I did not change any of the default settings in teraterm, nor in NI-MAX. Do you have any idea where the problem lies?

My Measurement & Automation can detect the keithley 2400, but the LabTracer doesn't work, why?

Just as I said in the subject. The Measurement & Automation can detect Keithley 2400. But when I use the LabTracer, it always shows "there was an error reported in the script engine. test aborted." What's wrong with it?

IviConfigServer.IviConfigStore.1: Deserialize failed. Invalid argument. 0x80047010

Hi,

 

We execute the following method:

 

IIviConfigStorePtr cs(__uuidof(IviConfigStore));

                    

                     if (cs == NULL)

                           throw("The driver could not be Initialized because the IVI configuration server is not installed.");

….

 

cs->Deserialize(_bstr_t(pszIVIPath));

 

And intermittently we got the error: "IviConfigServer.IviConfigStore.1: Deserialize failed.  Invalid argument.       0x80047010".

 

The error doesn't happen all the time, but intermittently. Why is that?

IVI drivers not shown in MAX

I open MAX to create a New Logical Name, but once I’ve created the Logical Name, no Drivers are available and the “Go To” buttom remains disaibled.  I tried the following to fix the issue, but no luck:

I’ve run a quite new software installation on a clean machine (PC, x86,32 Bits, WIN7) doing the following:

  1. I’ve installed NIDAQmx 9.7.5 with its updates.
  2. I’ve downloaded and installed the NI IVI Compliance Package 4.6 - Windows 8/7/Vista/XP/Server 2008/Server 2003 R2 32-bit
  3. I’ve installed LabWindows CVI 2013… when installation proccess was almost done, I was asked to install NI Device Drivers, as I hadn’t them available I chose to install them later.
  4. I’ve installed Labwindows CVI 2013 available updates .
  5. Finally, i’ve installed NI Device Drivers.

PC was restarted after each step.

 

Am I missing something? What can be wrong?

J'ai essayé GSE? et TSRGH? mails ils me retournent systématiquement 0 pour GSE et 7 pour l'autre.

 

Quelqu'un aurait'il une solution ?

Okay I am posting this as noone has been able to help me yet and I am still at a lost...

I am using a adafruit ultimate GPS with the following pin layout
Pin 1:  Vin

Pin 14:  TX
Pin:  10 RX

Pin 30  GND

 

Module specs:

Hey guys, I am coming here because earlier I had vision problems you guys were very helpful, I was able to do a match pattern program!

 

So I'm programming a GPS sensor, in particular the adafruit ultimate GPS, the SPECS are below, as well as a link above:
Satellites: 22 tracking, 66 searching

  • Patch Antenna Size: 15mm x 15mm x 4mm
  • Update rate: 1 to 10 Hz
  • Position Accuracy: 1.8 meters
  • Velocity Accuracy: 0.1 meters/s
  • Warm/cold start: 34 seconds

  • Maximum Altitude for PA6H: according to the factory, this module will perform up to 40Km but it is only known-tested up to 27,000 Meters

For pins I am using 1  for vin

                               10 for RX

                               14 for tx

                                30 for ground

 

Upon running the program, from the myRio essentials manual,  I get the dreaded visa run-out issue(which can be seen in the attachment, as well as below).  Any ideas?  I have scoured everywhere to find a solution, and have yet to find anything that actual works.  Hope you guys can offer me some advice!

TCP Read timeout

I understand there are other discussions on this topic already, however I have yet to find a solution amongst them.

 

Here's the scenario:

I have a host PC (running Win7) that's connected to an Agilent N9020A MXA Signal Analyzer (running WinXP) via LAN connection. The reason behind the LAN connection via GPIB is due to the added 89601B VSA software I wish to access via SCPI commands through LabView code on the host PC. According to Agilent this is one of the ways to do so.

 

I've assigned IP addresses and specified the Agilent recommended port 5024 for TCPIP connection. I am able to write commands using TCP Write using LabView, however I can't seem to read anything back using TCP Read. In fact, depending on some variation of options I've tried from the previous forum topics, I always end up with Error 56 or 66.

 

I have verified the SCPI command works for retrieving data via Agilent Interactive IO. It should be pretty straight forward. Given that I wish to automate this process, please help? What am I missing?

ds345 instrument not found

I have a Standford Research Systems Function Generator (DS345) that I'm trying to communicate with using a GPIP-USB-HS. The GPIB-USB is recognized by the Measurement & Automation explorer, but the DS345 is not found.

 

I've downloaded the driver (Labview 8.0 version since I'm running 8.6) but those VI's return a "; DS345 Send Message" error.

 

Any advice for getting the DS345 recognized?

 

I've tried restarting and reconnecting everything a few times to no avail.

Connect Lecroy WavePro 7300A oscilloscope to Windows XP PC via LAN

Hello,

 

This is my first attempt to connect an oscilloscope to a PC. I cannot use a GPIB connection because the scope doesn't have a GPIB port, so I'm attempting to connect via LAN.

 

Some background:

- From the Utlilities > Remote menu of the oscilloscope, I can see that the scope is controlled from TCP/IP. Its host name is displayed, but the IP address displayed is 0.0.0.0 (this is not suprising as the manual specifies there is no factory set IP address).

- The PC is connected to the internet wirelessly; the oscilloscope and PC are connected via an ethernet cable

 

Here are the things I have tried along with the errors received:

- Ran the command ipconfig/all to ensure DHCP is enabled

- Downloaded the VICP Passport for NI-VISA and attempted to run the 'lcwave Acquire Waveform.vi" (from instrument driver) using VICP::<hostname> as the VISA resource name, without having configured a network device in Measurement & Automation Explorer (I read on another forum that using MAX isn't necessary if the VICP passport has been downloaded). Labview produces error "VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0067) The given session or object reference does not support this operation"

- Tried adding a network device to MAX by manually specifying address information (in addition to supplying the hostname, tried using LAN Device name inst0 and INSTR, as well as port number). When I click Validate, there is an error: "Could not open a VISA session to <resource name>, VISA error code 0xBFFF0011. Insufficient location information or the device resource is not present in the system"

 

Any ideas for troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

Arduino code for Xbee communication

Hi everyone, absolute beginner to bath Arduino, Xbee and Labview and looking for help. I am building a project to basicaly operate a remote control car wirelessly using labview and xbee series 1 and arduino. The LabView VI operates the car when the arduino is connected directly to the car and the laptop. I have configured the Xbee's using CoolTerm and i can acheve communication in both directions. The trouble starts when i attach the remote Xbee to the arduino. The setup is as follows. Co-ordinator placed on explorer board attached to laptop. Remote Xbee wired into Arduino motor shield which is placed on arduino. At the moment i plug this into another usb port on the laptop for power only. On the labview vi i have changed the connection type to Xbee. And all baudrates are set at 9600.

I seem to be having a problem at the init.vi block , returning an error 5002. Im guessing the problem is my arduino code. Im not very good at code however i think the loop is fine, but the setup i dont know how to do this. Some videos viewed led me to believe if i uploaded the LabViewInterface file that it may work using this alone but i have tried this and no luck.

Can anybody advice me on where im going wrong, thanks in advance.

shc68-c68-D4 Cable

Hi All,

         Ok I have two PCB boards one with a straight VHDCI connector and the other one with a RA VHDCI connector, between

them I want to connect a Ni SHC68-C68-D4 cable between them. Now my question is does the cable have a straight 1:1 connection

ie. Pin1 (straight) to Pin34 (Right Angle), Pin 35 (S) to Pin68 (RA), Pin2 (S) to Pin33 (RA) etc. or does the cable translate Pin1

(straight) to Pin1 (Right Angle)?

ivi scope only sets aquasition first time

So I have an odd issue.  I am useing the IVI scope driver to control my scope over GPIB.  My routine initializes the scope and then loops waiting for what to do.  The first time I call the subvi to setup for a capture it works great.  Sets all the aquasition info like trigger level, channel, type.. all that stuff.

 

Subsequent calls don't do anything though.  No error codes, just does nothing.  The initiate command does continue to work.  I just cannot change any of the aquasition settings like trigger level or channel or anything.

DMA Options with NI PXI to 3rd-party PCI Device with no DMA Controller

Hi,

 

I need to pull data out of my 3rd-party PCI device at 22MB/sec.  The fastest I've been able to go using NI-VISA 5.4 in LabVIEW 2013 is 1.6MB/sec with the Move In 64 function.  There is no DMA controller on the 3rd-party device.  I was hoping to use the host's DMA controller and a VISA MEMACC object, but I stumbled across KnowledgeBase 3229I2RA: How Do NI PXI Controllers Support DMA (Direct Memory Access)? The KB states, "Our PXI controllers only support the PCI specification, and therefore do not need a DMA controller on the motherboard."  If there is no DMA controller on the 3rd-party PCI device, are there any DMA options for my 3rd-party device on NI PXI controllers?

I am communicating with the AT Trainer 5000 via serial port to USB converter.

 

I installed all drivers of converter successfully and it is shown in MAX as com port. I also installed VISA software. 

 

I am using labview 2013 version.

 

When I connect the hardware to PC via usb to serial converter, try to run the program for seeing of real time graphs, I am receiving this error Error 1 occurred at Scan From String (arg 1) whereas there is no waveform shown in waveform chart. 

 

Also read buffer didn't show an incoming data at read buffer.

 

Other details for this error is

 

Possible reason(s):

LabVIEW: An input parameter is invalid. For example if the input is a path, the path might contain a character not allowed by the OS such as ? or @.
