We have E5810B LAN / GPIB / USB Keysight gatewayWhen we use their soft keysight connection expert 2020.
We can see all the equipment plugged in and used.
But when we do not connect to NI-MAX, we only detect the GPIB port (TCPIP0 :: xxxxx :: gpib0,8 :: INSTR).the usb and com ports are invisible.
Is there a specific driver to install?
I am trying to establish an RS-485 connection between a laptop and a device. I have attached pictures for reference. Picture 1564 and 1565 show the setup and device. The device is a three wire 485+, 485- and GND. The literature states it is a half duplex device (indicated by only 3 wires?). Pictures 1566, 1567 and 1568 show the laptop/PC configuration. The PC recognizes the converter on COM port 4 and the software seems to as well. Picture 485-2 shows the document from NI indicting cabling requirements for 2-wire (half duplex?) communication. I have confirmed the cable pinout and matched all NI software configurations for COM4 port with the same settings found in the device configuration settings. I still have been unsuccessful in establishing this connection. I feel a little stupid that I cannot see what is the problem. Can anyone identify what I am missing. I would really appreciate some insight.
I am running Visual Basic 6 on WindowsXP Professional(SP3). We have a NI VME board PCI-MXI-2 produced in 2004. I have downloaded NIVISA version 14.0. I get the error "Insufficient location information or the resource is not present in the system" while making a viOpen call in VISA32.dll. This is the second VISA library call that I make, the first one being to viOpen DefaultRM, which works without error. Can you suggest how I might resolve this problem?
Just so someone can fix it the driver sends the incorrect string for the configure time interval command. It sends :CONF:FREQ:TINT (@1), (@2) and the correct command is :CONF:TINT (@1), (@2) if you are using IN A to start and IN B to stop. Fluke has it wrong in the manual and that's probably where this error came from. It's a simple fix but it looks like what the manual says so it's though to see.
In an attempt to upgrade from windows XP to Windows 10. In XP I have some code that communicates over GPIB to GPIB and I want to switch over to GPIB-USB-HS+. Would I have to convert the communication from the GPIB to USB calls on the USB end of the connection? Is it possible to get communication between two PCs running Windows 10, when one end has the PCIe card and the other USB?

I'm trying to communication of my oscilloscope (MSO 5 Series) with C#.
Oscilloscope Firmware is V1.32.1 realesed 09 Feb 2021.
Socket communication and LAN communication are registered in Ni-Max.
I send and receive data through the oscilloscope and LAN communication.
An time out error occurs several hours after a test to load waveform data into the scope every 0.2 seconds.
When you remove and reconnect a registered module from NI Max, LAN communication fails with an error 0xBFFF003C (Insufficient system resources to perform security memory allocation).
There are three ways I tried.
1. LAN Reset in oscilloscope.
2. Self Test in oscilloscope.
3. Restart the computer that is communicating with the oscilloscope.
The only solution to this situation is to restart the Oscilloscope.
The NI-MAX is also connected to socket communication and commands operate normally on the oscilloscope after sending commands, but a timeout message occurs when commands are received.
I think the oscilloscope does not change from listener mode to talker mode.
Is there any way to change it to Listener Mode programmatically?

After finishing scope acquisition I need to disable = disconnect scope channels. Idealy all of them.
I tried to setup attribute "IVISCOPE_ATTR_CHANNEL_ENABLED" to FALSE but this will disconnect channel only during next acquisition .
I tried IVI Scope Reset - but this will not disconnect channels.
I tried IVI Scope Self Test - but this will not disconnect channels.
I know that NI Scope Soft Panel could disable channels.
How I could do it from TestStand + IVI Steps

Windows10パソコン上でEXCEL VBA を使いGPIB-USB-HS経由で機器を制御したいと思っています。NI-488.2ドライバをインストールしましが、VBAでGPIB関連のコマンドを認識しません。参照設定にNI-488.2関連のDLLを組み込むなどの環境設定する必要があると思いますが、いくら探してもその情報がありません。過去に同様の質問がありましたが解決案は示されていません。
なお、GPIB-USB-HSおよびその先の機器が認識されていることはMAXで確認済みです。
EXCEL VBAでBI-488.2を認識させる方法を教えてください。VISAを使う方法でも構いません。
なお、VB６やVB.NETでは何度もGPIB制御の経験はありますが、どうもVBAはVBと異なるようです。

I have a USB-8452 module, and I have installed all of the drivers, as instructed by the hardware manual and installation guide. I open NI-MAX and I can see the device is there - it is registered as NI USB-8452, but when I right-click on it, nothing happens. I would like to upload the example C-code file that is provided with the driver installation onto the USB-8452. How do I do this?

I am having difficulty communicating with a Yokogawa AQ6370C optical spectrum analyzer. I want to do this via a NI GPIB-USB-HS from the instrument to my laptop. I am able to find it on NI MAX, but I am unable to control my instrument. I have done a million things to try to troubleshoot this problem, with no luck.
This list includes:
1. Reinstalling NI-VISA and 488.2
2. Yes, all of my software drivers, etc are compatible (using the charts on the NI site)
3. Changing "timeout" in I/O settings to 30 seconds (pic 3) as instructed by the OSA's manual (pic of these instructions included just for fun- pic 6)
4. Checking if the instrument needs termination characters. The remote control manual does not even mention the phrase "termination characters," so I am assuming this is a no. Also, I tried them anyways just in case - no luck.
5. I set the I/O protocol to high speed since I have a new HP Precision laptop, and one NI FAQ said this could be an issue some how ??
6. When I first click on my instrument from the NI MAX list of connected devices, it states "The instrument did not respond to the *IDN? command. Refer to the instrument's programming manual to determine if this command is supported." (see pic 2), but the manual says this is a compatible command.
7. The device status says the device is working properly (pic 7).
8. The NI GPIB-USB-HS is connected to port 1, like it instructs in the manual for PC remote control.
No matter what I try, I keep getting this error (pic 1).
Any help is greatly appreciated as I've been working through this for 2 days now.

UPDATE: I read the release notes on V20 and apparently MacOS 11.x is not supported yet.
I recently installed the NI VISA drivers (v20) on a MacBook Pro (2019) with Big Sur.
The NiMAX application crashes, and the VISA framework fails to load with various permission errors (usually related to RAID or highpointRR).
I can't pinpoint the exact date, but last year on Catalina with V19 drivers everything worked fine.
The NiMAX program pops the main window, then quits unexpectedly with a Problem Report window.
Compiling a simple C program to link to the 'visa.framework/visa' dylib results in:
"Error Domain=KMErrorDomain Code=71 "Insufficient permissions for action: Unable to load 'com.highpoint-tech.kext.HighPointRR' in unprivileged request." There are some issues that I am running into on an offline machine in which some of the dependency files for the Agilent ENA Series are missing. I can not install any additional NI Package manager due to security reasons but was wondering if these files can just be directly downloaded somewhere:

When I use NI USB-8451 to communicate with STM32 as SPI, 8451 is the Master. I need the clock frequency of 8451 to be 2KHz, but when the setting is less than 48KHz, there is no clock signal of 8451. The frequency range of the 8451 is 48kHz to 12MHz?

I used USB to RS232/4 which connected to two measuring devices two weeks ago. But now, USB to RS232/r is not recognized as a USB port with out knowing why it is recognized only as a USB hub. It is recognized as a USB hub, but it confirmed to have not been migrated. When I checked in MAX, USB to RS232/4 related ports do not appear. Also, when USB to RS232/4 is connected to the computer, the indicator that appears on the ready side does not appear. I used another computer to confirm that checked USB to RS232/4 product does not have any problems.
What should I do in order to use USB to RS232/4 without any problems like 2 weeks ago?

I have used the VISA Test Panel to connect to my counter via a Keysight USP-GPIB adaptor. I can read data and reset the instrument with the Clear command but no other commands seem to work? Any suggestions where I am going wrong? If I could just set the Frequency band and resolution for now that would be a start.

I have a Keysight 82357B USB-GPIB adaptor. It is shown in the NI Max as an interface and I can send commands using the VISA Test Panel. One of the issues I am having is that if I open a blank VI panel and search for the drivers the interface is not discovered?

Has anyone here ever written a program for Keithley 2636A (the sourcemeter/SMU)?
I am sampling resistance of a device using the Keithley, (I need a higher sampling rate than what LabView and GPIB communication allow). Once the instrument buffer has the data I want, I want to download the buffer data to my computer.
For that, I need a very simple LabView project that reads the full buffer of the Keithley instrument, and saves the array to my computer.
This is the program I start with, but for some reason it does not work.
Anyone ever worked with a Keithley driver project who might have an idea of what's going on here?
