hi ,
I need install NI-VISA 20.0.but system can not get internet, so need off-line install. please help provide it.
When I navigate the NI-VISA documentation under Linux, I'm getting the warning, and the Search button does not work.
We're looking to test our PXI-5114 digitizer cards per the manual as noted in the Calibration section. Performed tests cover Vertical offset and gain, Programmable Vertical offset, Timing, BW and Flatness and Trigger Sensitivity.
is anyone aware of a location where we can download the programs as called out in the manual?
I'm trying to use the PXI-PROFIBUS card (several of them) to act as slaves to the various masters in my system. Some of these question will be more in the NI-VISA world rather than the PXI-PROFIBUS card.
From all the VISA and PROFIBUS reading that I've done, the PXI-PROFIBUS card is supposedly usable from a C or C# application (regular VISA library and .NET VISA library). My application will be emulating DP slaves, there by using the card as DP slaves.
So far from what I understand is that the card would be a INSTR resource and per the API there are read/write methods for accessing buffers. From the PROFIBUS side of things, I understand there are input and output process images/buffers/etc (seen many names for it).
If I will be reading/writing to buffers on the card, what am I reading/writing? Do the process images reside on the card or do they need to be maintained in the application interfacing with the card? What part of the profibus message format is handled by the card versus my application?
I will leave it here and see what responses I get before moving on to other questions.
Thanks,
Omar
My GPIB-USB-HS has not been used in the last few months.
Now when I connect it to the computer it is installed as an "Unknown Device". Windows Device Manager says the device ID is USB\VID_04B4&PID_8613 which is the default ID for the Cypress USB chip:
USB Boot Methods
During the power-up sequence, internal logic checks the I2C port
for the connection of an EEPROM whose first byte is either 0xC0
or 0xC2. If found, it uses the VID/PID/DID values in the EEPROM
in place of the internally stored values (0xC0), or it boot-loads the
EEPROM contents into internal RAM (0xC2). If no EEPROM is
detected, FX2LP enumerates using internally stored descriptors.
The default ID values for FX2LP are VID/PID/DID (0x04B4,
0x8613, 0xAxxx where xxx = Chip revision).
So I2C communication to the device (EEPROM (?)) with the correct USB device ID would appear to have failed.
Does anyone know which component holds that information? Does that come from the custom NI BGA device (U2)?? Or is there an EEPROM on the board that I've missed?
Hi,
I am trying to communicate with VISA Serial instruments and I did it with example - Simple Serial.vi. However, I would like to use network-published shared variable (string type) to send command to the instruments by replacing the string command (*IDN?\n) to the shared variable with same command loaded into the variable. Figure below shows the Simple Serial.vi added into a .lvproj file and a shared variable "READ" is preloaded with exactly same command.
May I know how to make it work as I am unable to communicate with the instrument once I changed the string command to shared variable?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Wing
Howdy everyone,
I have been using a GPIB-USB-HS to send SPCI command from my PC to the test instrument, which is Keysight device analyzer, and it had been working properly until today. When I tried to send SPCI commands to the instrument today, the errors occurred on the test instrument. It appears that the instrument is not reading my command correctly, for example, when I send '*IDN?' command to the instrument and the instrument reads '*HDN?' which gives me the error message 'not valid command'. I found that the instrument does not read the command correctly for some letters, I tried input 'I' 'X' 'D' 'H' and the instrument reads 'H' 'Y' 'D' 'H'. I have no clue of what's is going on here, has anyone seen this issue before and how do you fix it? Thanks!
Hi,
We have gpib-enet/1000 convertor, however, it cannot obtain ip automatically.
It can be seen the mac addr connected to our Ethernet port, but the status is inactive.
We pressed the CFG Reset switch with about 30sec, and released, the RDY LED keeps on steady red
What's the problem?
Hello,I would like to send commands to an instrument on the network through the telnet program that runs with the CMD.I have enabled telnet on windows 10 and when I send the command telnet IP (192. *** .- ***. ***) on CMD it opens my program and I would like labview to send my lines ofcommand on telnet.do you have an idea?
One of our older programs is not seeing the NI 488.2 driver, the message is :"Could not find load or assembly NationalInstruments.NI4882, Version=13.0.40.159, Culture=neutral, ect.
Does someone know what version of 488.2 this is revering to?

Good morning,
I have a cRIO9022 on my LAN which I can connect to with the MAX application installed on my PC. That works fine.
I have to place the cRIO in a remote location which I can reach from my LAN through the Internet, by means of a WiFi modem-router in the remote location, connected to the cRIO.ng to reach
Now I cannot anymore connect to the cRIO9022.
My doubts:
1) Is there any guided procedure to establish the connection from MAX to the remote cRIO?
2) Do I have to set any particular rules regarding the rules of the remote router-modem? I have tried to do port forwarding but I do not know what ports MAX SW is using to reach the cRIO.
Thanks to everyone that can give me a hint with this issue.
I'm using a Teradyne Magnum2 tester with windows to control a the prober. It worked until a service technician repaired the prober and had to re-install it's software. That changed the GPIB address from 4 to 1, which we fixed, but now it gives the "RECEIVE COMMAND FORMAT INVALID !!" on the prober. This is in response to the "B\r\n" Query, which is supposed to (and used to before the repair) get the prober ID.
The log on the prober shows that it got the "B" command but it seems like the termination may not match the tester anymore.
I compared and set the config settings to another prober which works (in hindsight, i should have taken pictures of this prober before the repair.)
I also tried changing the EOS from the NI default send EOI to terminate read on EOS with no luck. I attached the NI Spy capture.zip of the tester init, which has the "B" command and pictures of the prober menus and communication errors.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Hello,
I have a CAN-FD setup with XNET and a CAN device from a company called PEAK. My simulator transmits many CAN messages on the bus, two of which are CAN-FD 500Kb +2MB BRS, and ISO mode. There is also an automotive ECU transmitting two CAN-FD messages and some others on the same BUS.
The Peak tool sees all of the messages, including the 4 CAN-FD messages(2 from the simulator and 2 from the ECU). The XNET card, and or USB(8502) module only see the two CAN-FD modules from the ECU, and not the 2 from the simulator.
I'm sure it's not a termination or cabling issue, any other ideas?

Terry Moss

Hi
I tried to use a new GPIB-USB-HS, model 187965G, and i ran into a problem with my program that understands only GPIB0 in the connection expert.
I tried to read every availible thread about the matter and was not able to find how to do it, i cant acsess the instrument via MAX, for some reason it doesent give me the option of changing the properties even with administrators privilages, through the connection expert i saw that in one of the previous versions you could change these properties via the "Manual configuration" tab, but that doesent seem to exist anymore.
At the end of the day, i need to change the visa interface ID from the, default GPIB1 to GPIB0 on this device.
Thanks in advance
For decades, ni.com/idnet has been the place to go to find instrument drivers, instrument driver development tools, instrument driver style guidelines, VI Analyzer tests, etc. I visited it just last month.
Today when I went there, it's been replaced with a search results page, and there aren't any links to the other documents or tools. Is this intentional, or is the website just broken right now?
Does PCI-GPIB, NI-488.2 P/N 778032-01 hardware works with Windows 10 32-bit and 64-bit operating system?
Hello everybody,
I am not very practical with this forum so I will relaunch my issue, as I didn't receive any reply. If I am not using this forum in rong way I will appreciate any suggestion in that way even.

Hello,
I am trying to control USB-6008 via VISA API (without NI-DAQmx). This is for educational purposes only.
I used the NI-VISA Driver Wizard to setup the USB RAW driver. I need help for the next step(s).
Where I can get communication protocol for USB-6008?
Do you have another idea?
Thanks for help!
