Hi,
I'd like to control a PXI system with a PC.
Using the NI MAX program, I confirmed that my PC recognizes the PCIe8361 (PCIe x1) installed in the PCIe x16 slot.
The PXI8360 was mounted on the PXI1042 chassis and I confirmed light on of pwr and link.
But NI MAX does not recoginze the PXI system.
Moreover, when I turn on the PC after PXI powered on, it is not boot.
My PC is optiplex7070 (minitower).
GPIB-USB and USB DAQ works well.
How can I use the PXI system?

I have PCI- 7340 and I am using a custom software to control it. the driver used is Ni motion 18.0 and I don't see any VISA driver software installed, I don't understand why I am getting this error. I am very new to this software and controllers. Kindly reply. I am also getting Open TCP connection error also

Hello, I am having the same problem as shared in this older post:
TLDR: the "Scan For Instruments Button" doesn't show up for my GPIB-USB-HS. However, in the previous post the issue ended up being that their versions of Ni 488.2 and LabVIEW were too far apart in age to be compatible. In my case, my NI 488.2 19.5 is said to be compatible with LabVIEW 2018 on this site. I have already gone through all the troubleshooting steps listed in this help page: https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z0000019Qd6SAE&l=en-US, nothing works. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm familiar with NI equipment offerings and their LabVIEW tools, but I haven't been a user of them. Instead, I have been limited by what equipment is available to use. To automate things, I have been using py-visa with good results. Now, I've been asked to incorporate some NI PXIe equipment into a setup we have that utilizes py-visa for automation and control. Since NI offers VISA and LabVIEW can control instruments with VISA, I've been having trouble finding documentation stating if I can control NI equipment with py-visa or not. Is that possible or is LabVIEW the only option to control and automate NI's PXIe equipment?
I am using Labview 2018 and through GPIB I can remote control Network Analyzer MODEL "8753ES". I can use the command to save the screen shot on the SA to its local hard disk. But I wonder whether I can save the screenshot to my computer's hard disk. Thanks.

I am trying to communicate with a test board through USB port of my PC. I followed the NI-VISA driver wizard suggestions already mentioned in the forums.
I created the .inf file, but when i try to install the inf file, it asks me to sign the driver. I followed the NI article that gives the procedure.
but the problem is, inf2cat.exe is not found in the latest Windows SDK i installed from microsoft website. I am using Windows 10 OS with build 1809 and Labview 2019 SP1.
Is there any other method that NI is working on or has already??
Any one with suggestions, are of great help.

I connect two external USB devices (one IR sensor and one GPS) which I sample with Visa Read. Is there any clever way to assign the devices the correct COM port number programatically? I figured I could use the error output to reassign the recource name in a loop, but that isn't a particularly elegant method. Is there a better option out there?
Can I maybe ping each COM port some how and get some clue on which of the devices that is connected to it?

I'm new to Labview. I have version 19.01. I'm trying to
1. Take a temp reading on Ch 122
2. Read supply voltage from Ch 121
3 Read voltages from Ch 101:110
4. (Eventually) write to spreadsheeet
I put together The temp and voltage single point reading VIs which by themselves work nicely, how to I switch the card over to take the voltage readings? I know I'm missing something I just don't know what. I'm attaching my VI.

I had a well working usb connection to a Rigol SDS 1202X-E oscilloscope that started to fail after installing the 1909 Windows 10 update. To verify I installed all from the start on another laptop using NI-VISA starting from 5.40 - 5.41 - 2017 - 2018 - 2019 Runtime versions and latest 2019 NI-VISA version. All worked well. Then I did the Windows update, upto the 1909 upgrade all kept working well.
The 1909 killed the usb driver or did something else, in device manager the usb Measurement Test Device IVI is still available but it can not be accessed via the connection/add device screen in EasyscopeX.
Device manager makes the following statement: Device USB\VID_F4ED&PID_EE3A\SDS1EDEC4R0553 requires further installation.
A remedy for this kind of information is doing the Windows upgrades. But I am already up to date completely.
1. Anybody else, with same or other equipment having this?
2. Any suggestions for a solution?
3. Workaround: use IP connection instead of USB but that is a bit more work

I am communicating with a Chroma 19036 via NI Visa V19.0 ( TCPIP /message based session ). I need to be able to clear the response buffer as a result of say, issuing multiple writes which generate a device response without a read between them, etc. I received method not supported error when using the session.clear() method and normal IOProtocol. I have tried changing the session IOProtocol to Ieee4882 and received the same error. The documentation seems to indicate that the clear method is in fact supported. Can anyone provide any guidance/help. Thank you in advance,

I'm having trouble getting my sbRIO to communicate with the NI 9683 AI/AO pins for control.
currently the software has been used on other 9607/9683 boards by colleagues and functions properly. Am I doing something incorrectly?
I am attempting to apply a 2.2vdc signal to the Scanned AI0 and read the value.
Note: the Relay Control functions properly on the 9683 and the FPGA LED operates as well so the code is compiling to the FPGA

Does NI-VISA support non-NI instruments? How should I install the instruments driver (from the vendor)?
Hi. I Have Sartorius PMA Scale. It has usb port only. They work normally with the standard program from the manufacturer. I am trying to establish communication and get data from the scales using LabView. I tried to run examples from the library but I don’t see any data. I ask for your help in the form of a working example or advice.
I have a device that outputs data via RS232 approximately once per second. The device has a built in FTDI FT232R chip to pretending to be USB.
At the moment I am trying to just read the data as it is streamed from the device, I know that the device is working correctly because I can open the serial port in PuTTY and see the data correctly.
However labview generates an IO error (-1073807298), only when the device is sending data. If I turn off the device then Labview opens the port without issue then the VISA read times out as expected. So Labview/VISA clearly has an issue with the data that is being transmitted. The PuTTY log shows that there are NUL characters within the data which I think is the problem.
This is an extract from the log which shows the data being received.
I have spent the last 3 days reading knowledge base articles and through the forums, there has to be something simple I am missing.
The VI is attached, this is not going anywhere near the final project, I am just trying to read the serial data at this point.
Hi, I'm trying to establish a connection between an instrument and LabVIEW by using an USB to GPIB Converter (KUSB 488B). Although I installed the driver of KUSB-488B, LabVIEW always shows the same error: Error connecting to GPIB driver or device (Error 0). The computer recognizes the instrument and also its GPIB address. I use LabVIEW 2011.
It would be great if someone could help me.

When I connect the device: Vector Network Analyzer with the computer, I showed up both on Device management on computer and NI-VISA wizard but it did not appear on NI-MAX.
