Hello.
We have a LabVIEW based test fixture that uses VXIbus mainframe and stack with different instruments like Relay module, Digital I/O, Scope, Multimeter, and more.
The whole system have been developed years ago, and was working fine until some present time.
Now we have some weird problem that Tektronix VX4802 Digital I/O board start to respond with Error 02 "SYNTAX ERROR" to some commands that it was accomplish correctly before. One of this commands is "*IDN?", whish seems to be the most generic whish all instruments suppose to support.
I though the problem is with the Digital I/O module, and I did find different one, replaced it and problem stays. I though its a damaged unit, found another one, but problem stays.
Also, I have found that if "R" or "RST" command used the unit gets out from ERR mode and can do some more of its functionality.
However, after using it with reset like that same instrument started to go in "SYNTAX ERROR" mode with additional set of commands.
By the way, self test command "S" is getting done without any issues. Also, using "*IDN?" on any other instruments in the same mainframe resounds with correct info.
Does anyone have any idea of how to troubleshoot such issue, and where to look? Is it issue with Digital I/O board or, passably, mainframe?
Thank you and Best Regards
