I know how to communicate with a measurement instrument equipped with a GPIB interface via NI-VISA using a Linux pc.
I have a Linux pc with two GPIB interfaces and NI-VISA installed.
Is it possible to connect the two GPIB interfaces on my Linux pc together with a GPIB cable and use one interface as the master and the second interface as the slave.
The idea is to make the second GPIB interface react as a measurement instrument so it can receive the commands transmitted by the first GPIB interface (The master).
Can this be done using NI-VISA?
An example of the NI-VISA command flow would be appreciated.
