I've got a bit of a problem with VISA/GPIB. I have a NI PCI GPIB adapter in a remote system (running 488.2 18.5.0 and VISA 18.5 0) and I'd like to remotely enumerate the GPIB devices on the bus. Normally, if I were on a local system, I would simple click on "Scan for Instruments". However, if I access the remote target in MAX, this is greyed out:
I think I've tracked the problem to VISA server security. As you can see, I can only apply "access only" settings. I think I need to apply "access and remote configuration", but the system will not let me select those rights.
I've tried this with the firewall on, the firewall off, running MAX with Administrator privileges, rebooted the target multiple times, but no luck. Currently, this annoys me to no end. I would really appretiate any help given...
