I am trying to figure out how to communicate with the Agilent/Keysight N9020A Signal Analyzer over Ethernet.
In NI-MAX, the VISA Resource Name for the instrument shows up as
TCPIP0::A-N9020A-90040::instr0::INSTR
The 90040 is part of the serial number for a particular instrument.
We will have more than one test station.
I would rather communicate with the instrument by IP address so that it does not matter what the serial number of a particular instrument is.
Is that possible?
The previous engineer had gone into NI-MAX and created aliases. This fine except that our contract manufacturer is overseas.
